Community Projects at our local Food Bank

by | Jun 25, 2025 | Events

Brightstars’ Community Action Projects are underway! Our third volunteer has been out in the community at our local food bank, lending their time & support for the benefit of others. This is all part of our Groups’ ESG Plan – and a development from Mental Health Awareness Week 2025. In this report, Adam Fulcher shares his insights into his day of volunteering.

Adam Fulcher, Commercial Finance Specialist

“I visited the Billericay Food Bank and enjoyed my time there. I’ve never done anything like this before so it was good to get an insight into how they run the food bank and also how they assisted the local community.

They explained how they got donations, what food they bought, what was donated, and how they decide what food is handed out to certain size families. I didn’t know it wasn’t means tested so it works on an honour system for people using the food bank. They explained they had over 100 volunteers who help run the food bank. Great fun for the entire family, 5 stars”
